Make sure to clear the cache folder under ~/Library/Application Support/Google/DriveFS and install Drive for desktop version 47 from this link dl./drive-file-stream/beta47/GoogleDrive.dmg. You would need to uninstall the application and install it again. Run the application and it should prompt you to "Allow" once again and request one final approval or reset.ī. Upon rebooting, there may be two outcomes:Ī. Once you have run the above command, go to the Apple menu and restart the computer.If your volume’s name has been changed previously, just replace “Macintosh HD” with the new name. Note: This will delete and unapprove all third party extensions. Open "Utilities" > "Terminal" in Recovery mode and run the command: kmutil trigger-panic-medic -volume-root /Volumes/Macintosh\ HD.If asked, select a user with administrator privileges for the computer and click "Next". Hold it until "Loading startup options" appears. Restart the computer by pressing and holding the power button. Turn off your computer and restart it in Recovery mode.Note: This will restore your system to a state as if the System Integrity Protection had never been enabled for driver installation. I click allow in the security section (System Software from developer "Google, Inc." has been updated) and trigger a restart. To finish the update, you must approve it in the Security & Privacy System preferences A program has updated extension(s) signed by "Google, Inc.".The system extension required for running Google Drive needs your approval before it can be loaded. The app loads but then shows two pop ups I tried installing the software and followed all their steps (Reduced Security, Allowing user management of kernel extensions and then restarting after it theoretically updated to allow extensions and changes) but have had zero luck. Yesterday Google updated their Google Drive for Desktop Release Notes with instructions on how to install a beta version ( 46.0.3.0).
